Congratulations to Deborah Brewer on her new job at Bishop Burton College as a lecuturer starting in March 2014! This means that as a stud we have decided to cease breeding and sell off all stock for a quieter life. Please visit our for sale pages to view all the horses for sale, all offers considered.
The stud is a small family-run mare-only stud aiming to breed and produce top quality competition horses for both the amateur and the professional. We use conformationaly correct mares, with good temperaments, that have proved themselves competitively before retiring to stud. Our mares are all put to competitively proven stallions that we feel will complement and improve on the dam, to produce an even better athlete in the offspring. These youngsters are produced by our rider, Deborah Brewer (nee Fielding), at a pace that suits them so that they become confident in themselves and fulfil their competitive potential.
We use African names for our foals because of African connections. Our prefix Picanini, meaning little or small, was chosen because it fits with our five foot rider and because we are and intend to remain a small stud so that we can maintain our core belief of a happy, stable environment for horses, and ensure that every horse at Picanini Stud remains a calm, confident individual, able to give its best whatever its role.
